But, no matter how much care we put into our skin, there are some things we just can’t control. There’s excess oil and pollution that just make our skin look dull and tired-looking.
And then there’s blackheads.
They are those black little spots that happen when your follicles get blocked. They get their color through oxidation and they can happen whether or not you have acne.
Though genes dictate if you’re going to have them or not, good hygiene also plays a huge part in their formation. So, to keep them at bay, you’ll need something that can make sure your pores stay clog-free.
Here are some DIY face masks for blackheads that will leave you with soft, clear and irresistible skin. But though these are natural remedies, remember these can’t be done regularly. They can only be applied at least 3 times a week to avoid drying your skin out.
1. Honey and Cinnamon Face Mask
Packed with nutrients that care for your skin, honey is a popular ingredient in both cosmetic and skincare products. It is highly antimicrobial, too, making it great for acne-prone skin.
Cinnamon, on the other hand, is packed with antimicrobial properties that stop the growth of pimple-causing bacteria. It helps remove dead skin cells, too.
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons honey
- Mix the two in a small bowl until well combined.
- Apply on the affected area and leave on for 15 minutes maximum.
- Rinse face with your favorite facial wash.
Note that you’ll experience a slight burning sensation but this is completely normal. However, if you have sensitive skin, you can skip adding the cinnamon.
